On Monday, the Eastern Ramblers faced the Woodson Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Eastern put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 55-30 victory. The win was just what Eastern needed coming off of a 74-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Leading Eastern to victory were Rashid Faruq and Isyah Joyner. Faruq scored 16 points, while Joyner scored 16 points. Joyner has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Derrick Gatling, who scored seven points.
Eastern's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Woodson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
Eastern will be playing at home against the Griffins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bell is no doubt hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Woodson, they will head out on the road to take on the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
