The Trabuco Hills Mustangs and the Fountain Valley Barons squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Trabuco Hills Mustangs had to settle for second. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 60-59 to the Barons. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Trabuco Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sam Meza-Tallada. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points. Meza-Tallada is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Warnick, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Trabuco Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 21-9. As for Fountain Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-12.
Trabuco Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Fountain Valley will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Heritage Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Fountain Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
