The Poetry Community Christian Pioneer's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 45-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Texas Institute. Poetry Community Christian lost against Texas Institute in their previous head to head back in November, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 57-27 score last time.
Poetry Community Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel McClure, who scored 12 points along with three steals. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Shook, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Poetry Community Christian's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Texas Institute, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Poetry Community Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenville Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Texas Institute does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
