Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gretna). They came out on top against the Altavista Colonels by a score of 12-7 on Tuesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their two-run performance the game before.
Alyssa Keesee made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Gretna got a massive performance out of Makayla Morris, who went 2-for-3 with four runs and two RBI. That's the most hits Morris has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Miranda Hearn, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four RBI and one double.
