Bailey Bliven spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 13 hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cassie Kleier, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. LB Scott was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Meanwhile, Ocean Lakes beat First Colonial 5-1 on Thursday. The Dolphins haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Ocean Lakes also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Sam Patterson gave up a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 16 Ks.
At the plate, Addison Munson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaitlyn Wilms, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Ocean Lakes was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as First Colonial only posted a batting average of .043.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Great Bridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Ocean Lakes struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Great Bridge beat Ocean Lakes 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Dolphins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
