There's no place like home for the Franklin County Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They escaped with a win on Thursday against Hauser by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. The victory was all the more spectacular given Franklin County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Hauser is ranked 88th).
Franklin County was led to victory by Isaiah Kemp and Eli Butt. Kemp scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Butt scored 11 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Kemp has scored at least 25% of Franklin County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Stephenson, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Franklin County's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Hauser, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Franklin County will head out on the road to face off against East Central at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully East Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Saturday. As for Hauser, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waldron at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
