The Roosevelt Roughriders have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They were the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over Northridge. This was payback for Roosevelt, who suffered a 61-48 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Roosevelt got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Joseph Palma out in front who scored 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Palma has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Seppe Salvatore, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds.
Lincoln Lyons and Justin Thill certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Lyons scored seven points along with eight rebounds, while Thill scored seven points. Lyons is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games he's played.
Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Northridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Roosevelt will be playing at home against Severance at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Severance is coming into the matchup with six straight wins on the road, so Roosevelt is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Northridge, they will square off against Skyline at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
