San Jacinto Valley Academy hasn't had much luck against Santa Rosa Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Wolves will head out on the road to take on the Rangers at 3:15 p.m. San Jacinto Valley Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Santa Rosa Academy likes a good challenge.
San Jacinto Valley Academy came out on top against Desert Christian Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Wolves blew past the Conquerors 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Conquerors: they've now won six in a row.

Avilika Arana made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lillian Fernley, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Angelina Dominguez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
San Jacinto Valley Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .543 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Santa Rosa Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 7-6.
Madeleine ?Goose? Hillyer and Lisa Marie Cante stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hillyer went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double, while Cante went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was Hillyer's first of the season.
San Jacinto Valley Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.2 runs over those games. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 13-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. San Jacinto Valley Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Santa Rosa Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
San Jacinto Valley Academy might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Santa Rosa Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
