The Metro Tech Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Alhambra Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Metro Tech has given up an average of 15.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Metro Tech lost 29-19 to Fairfax on Thursday. While the Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Stampede 7-3 in the first period.

Maria Mada was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Mariaelena Velasquez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Even though they lost, Metro Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .674. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 24 runs the game before, Alhambra was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They came up short against McClintock, falling 17-2.
Alhambra saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aliyah Carranza, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Alhambra's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Metro Tech, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Alhambra's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Metro Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .612. It's a different story for Alhambra, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Metro Tech's hitters?
Metro Tech couldn't quite finish off Alhambra when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 7-5. Can Metro Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
