The Vista PEAK Prep Bison will take on the Denver South Ravens at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Vista PEAK Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Vista PEAK Prep proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 11) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past George Washington 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bison have posted since April 30, 2024.

Abel Salinas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Vista PEAK Prep is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Vista PEAK Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karter Robertson, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Denver South and Thomas Jefferson meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Ravens were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Spartans. The Ravens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Johnny Komarowsky made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andon Forster, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Cody Welch was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Denver South pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Vista PEAK Prep, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Vista PEAK Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Vista PEAK Prep came out on top in a nail-biter against Denver South when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Will the Bison repeat their success, or do the Ravens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
