The Stamford Black Knights lost against the Southington Blue Knights back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Stamford took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southington. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Stamford has scored all season.
Lily Cooper continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Southington, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Cooper's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Blanchard, who scored nine points.
Stamford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Southington, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Stamford will be playing in front of their home fans against Wilton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Southington, they will head out on the road to face off against Conard at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Conard presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Southington in Connecticut (Conard is ranked 22nd, while Southington is ranked 91st).
