Softball Recap: Grafton Has No Trouble Against Fairmont Senior

Grafton had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They blew past the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears 15-0. That looming 15-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bearcats yet this season.

Lillie Crimm made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in walks (zero). She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shyann Trimble, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Serenitee Swaney also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Grafton's record now sits at 4-2. As for Fairmont Senior, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Grafton and Fairmont Senior will both be playing Berkeley Springs the next time they take the field. Fairmont Senior will head out to face Berkeley Springs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Grafton will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
