Basketball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is WISH Academy's Fifth in Last Six Outings

WISH Academy won the last time they faced Animo Watts, and Noah Tureaud did his part to make sure it happened again. The WISH Academy Owls came out on top against the Animo Watts Warriors by a score of 64-54 on Thursday thanks in part to Tureaud, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Nicholas Nakada was another key player, putting up five points and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why Animo Watts lost, don't look at Johntae Forshae. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Joshua Baldwin, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 10 points and six boards.

WISH Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Animo Watts, their loss ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-3.

Coincidentally, WISH Academy and Animo Watts will both be playing Animo Venice the next time they take the court. WISH Academy will head out to face Animo Venice at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Animo Watts will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
