Leading Carvers Bay to victory were K'moni Taylor and Jasmyn Jenkins. Taylor scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Jenkins scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Loris' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Janiya Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, and LaKeya Martin who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Richburg is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Even though they lost, Loris smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carvers Bay only pulled down 15 offensive rebounds.
Carvers Bay has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Loris, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carvers Bay will take on Scott's Branch at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Scott's Branch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Carvers Bay is ranked 109th). As for Loris, they will head out on the road to face off against Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Georgetown is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
