The Ballard Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 12th straight loss. They were beaten by Sheldon 45-12. Ballard has not had much luck with Sheldon recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Ballard saw an underclassman step up: Payson Hill scored eight points.
Sheldon was led to victory by Aiden Bogart and Riley Chapman. Bogart dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Chapman scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Godsey, who scored three points along with five rebounds.
Ballard's defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Sheldon, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Ballard will head out on the road to take on Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ballard is facing Miami at the right time seeing as Miami is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Sheldon, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Montrose at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Sheldon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
