Sahuaro has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 27 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 80-15 win over Desert View at home. Sahuaro's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cassandra Coolidge was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and three steals. The matchup was her fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ny'Anza Brown, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Long Beach Poly ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They secured a 62-56 W over Highlands Ranch. The victory was all the more spectacular given Long Beach Poly's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 194th in California, while Highlands Ranch is ranked tenth in Colorado).
Sahuaro's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Long Beach Poly, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
