Arrowhead recap October 8, 2013
Reggie Ireland of Rancho Christian ran for the longest rushing play in Arrowhead this season against California School for the Deaf last week. Ireland scampered for 75 yards on the play and finished with 201 on the day as his team beat the Cubs.
Rancho Christian took down California School for the Deaf 41-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Preston Diehl threw for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 40 yards during the win.
Jimmy Kemmis' team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Ireland contributed 201 yards.
Ireland was a passing and rushing force as the Eagles beat Marcus Chmaj's team. Ireland's favorite target this week was Jacob Diaz, who caught 11 passes for 126 yards.
Nick DeMenezes made the biggest impact on defense this week as Riverside Christian fell to Brethren Christian. The 5-foot-9 junior recorded 1 fumble and racked up 3 sacks.
Diaz was the best wideout in the league this week as Rancho Christian topped the Cubs. Diaz tallied 11 receptions for 126 yards.
The Eagles' Diehl and Diaz have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Diehl has thrown for 518 yards this season, while Diaz has 30 catches for 407 yards. California Military Institute's Shaunti Martin leads the league in rushing yards with 484.
The ROUGH RIDERS are currently in third, while Rancho Christian is in first.
The league will see a high scoring game when California Military Institute and the Eagles face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Scott McRitchie's team comes in having scored 98 this season, while Rancho Christian has scored 94.
