The St. John Lutheran Saints were the 73-43 winner over the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. St. John Lutheran suffered a tough 71-46 defeat at the hands of Meadowbrook Academy on Monday.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brody Gravante, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Disimile, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meadowbrook Academy found their leader in underclassman Zach Ross, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 steals. Another player making a difference was Tico Smith, who scored 21 points.
St. John Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Meadowbrook Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing First Academy the next time they take the court. St. John Lutheran will host First Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Meadowbrook Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
