Odyssey Institute scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against Kingman as Odyssey Institute made off with a 49-25 win. The win was just what Odyssey Institute needed coming off of a 62-38 loss in their prior matchup.
Shelby Hunt was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jahmaria Flowers was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, San Tan Foothills' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by Lincoln Prep 59-21. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat San Tan Foothills has suffered since November 20, 2023.
Despite the loss, San Tan Foothills had strong showings from Sydnee Visoso, who scored eight points, and Abigail Horlacher, who scored a point along with six rebounds.
Odyssey Institute pushed their record up to 7-12 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29 points. As for San Tan Foothills, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Odyssey Institute have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.2 rebounds per game. It's a different story for San Tan Foothills, though, as they've been averaging only 31.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
