Softball Recap: Halls Wins Going Away Against Middleton

Halls never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Middleton. Halls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Carrlee Riddick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Addyson Brodie was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jayla Cobb was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1.

Halls hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Halls has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Middleton, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Halls will take on Clarksburg at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Middleton, they will square off against Trinity Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
