MATTHEWS, N.C. -
Butler (Matthews, N.C.) beat Page (Greensboro, N.C.) 55-14 on the strength of a superb game by dual threat quarterback
Anthony Ratliff, who threw three touchdown passes while running for three more.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Ratliff to
Creighton Howard in the first quarter, the Bulldogs were up 34-15 at the half.
Butler expanded its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. BHS scored two times in the third, including once on a punt return touchdown by
Benny Lemay.
The Matthews school got revenge for last year's 40-26 loss to the Pirates with the victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Bulldogs, who lost to Mallard Creek last week, 20-7.
Butler (2-1) goes up against Mount Tabor in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Page (1-2) locks horns with Ragsdale also in a non-conference game.
