The Jersey Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 68-48 margin over West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]. Jersey has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
Jersey got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Meredith Gray out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Gray has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times she's played. Tessa Crawford was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Jersey has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.
Jersey's road trip will continue as they head out to face Highland at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Highland presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jersey in Illinois (Highland is ranked 53rd, while Jersey is ranked 220th). As for West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs], they will be playing at home against Carrollton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Carrollton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Saturday.
