Smith Center lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Wyatt Overmiller, who scored ten points along with two steals. Reed Doane was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Smith Center dropped their record down to 6-9 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-10.
Smith Center will head out on the road to square off against the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Superior has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Broncos at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Russell is ranked 247th, while the Monarchs are ranked 249th).
