St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) had its advantage, which at one point stood at 15 points, drop to nine before the final whistle blew on a 35-26 victory over
Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, Ohio).
After taking the lead on a
Michael Siragusa touchdown run in the second quarter, the Wildcats led 14-7 at the half.
St. Ignatius expanded its lead to 14 points entering the fourth quarter. SI scored once in the quarter on a
John Thomas touchdown run.
Siragusa was the top performer for the Cleveland school. The junior wide receiver ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown.
Led by
Billy Price, the Falcons came in giving up 9.4 points per game this season.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Wildcats, which lost to St. Edward last week, 20-13. The loss comes after Austintown-Fitch defeated Cardinal Mooney 49-7 last week. The loss snapped Austintown-Fitch's 3-game winning streak.
