Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sidney). Everything went their way against the Dryden Lions on Friday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The Team not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024 (when they won 24-4).
Riley Finch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Sidney got a massive performance out of Kaleb Monroe, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Monroe also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lucas Mott, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Sidney always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Sidney's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Dryden, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
