The North East Carolina Prep Husky will venture away from home to challenge the Bertie Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North East Carolina Prep has three straight wins, Bertie has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
North East Carolina Prep's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Hertford County with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Husky, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Savannah Babb made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, North East Carolina Prep got a massive performance out of Jordyn Harvin, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Harvin has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Bunting, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
North East Carolina Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Bertie came up short against Gates County on Thursday, falling 20-4.
Bertie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Jones, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Alexia Dickerson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
North East Carolina Prep pushed their record up to 6-8 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bertie, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.
Everything went North East Carolina Prep's way against Bertie in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as North East Carolina Prep made off with a 17-2 win. Do the Husky have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Falcons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
