The Timberlake Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Sandpoint Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Timberlake is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, Timberlake strolled past Bonners Ferry with points to spare, taking the game 51-37.
Meanwhile, Sandpoint waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 49-41 win over Lakeland. Given Sandpoint's advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Lakeland is ranked 47th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Karlie Banks continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Sandpoint's points. Another player making a difference was Brecken Mire, who scored six points along with five steals.
Timberlake is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Sandpoint, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Timberlake came up short against Sandpoint in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 58-53. Can Timberlake avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
