The biggest upset of the week belonged to Norwin, who took down 351st ranked Greater Latrobe, 27-14.
Penn-Trafford was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to second in WPIAL AAAA Foothills. Earlier in the week, the Warriors defeated McKeesport 28-14.
Ricardo Carter threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns. He was 11-20 with three interceptions.
Ty George was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 131 yards as Hempfield Area bested Kiski Area. Skyler Carkuff also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.
DeFloria was the best wideout in the league this week as the Spartans topped the Cavaliers. DeFloria tallied two receptions for 79 yards. Cameron Updyke helped Hempfield Area's passing attack out by catching two balls for 39 yards.
Hempfield Area's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. George has thrown for 525 yards and one touchdown this season, while DeFloria has 12 catches for 264 yards. DeFloria leads the league in rushing with 418 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gateway takes on Hempfield Area. The Gators are in first place, while Rich Bowen's team is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when Gateway and the Spartans face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Terry M Smith CAA's team comes in having scored 162 this season, while Hempfield Area has scored 128. The Gators scored 42 points last week as they defeated Altoona.

The Knights moved up to 394 from 495 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Norwin was able to make the jump by beating the Wildcats 27-14.
