The Gobles Tigers will challenge the Climax-Scotts Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gobles came out on top against Martin on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Tigers put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 12-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on six straight.

Daisy Jackson was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Riley Johnson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Erica Barber was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Gobles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Climax-Scotts had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Broncos.
Like Gobles, Climax-Scotts also got a great game from a two-way player: Addy Reeves. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Reeves was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Holly Talbert was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Addi Dzwik, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Gobles pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Climax-Scotts, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Gobles hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .394. However, it's not like Climax-Scotts struggles in that department as they've averaged .367. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
