The biggest upset of the week belonged to Whale Branch, who took down 114th ranked Estill, 33-20. Brandon Morton threw for 164 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Morton and Devonta Delaney provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Fighting Gators. The connection was good for 70 yards, the longest such play in A Region V this season.
Brandon Jordan was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 123 yards on 14 carries as Allendale-Fairfax topped Denmark-Olar. Jahnari Devoe also contributed to the rushing game with 106 yards on the ground.
Solomon McCormick provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Tigers topped the Vikings. He completed five passes for 168 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 39 yards. McCormick's favorite target this week was Washington, who caught one pass for 129 yards.
The Warriors' Morton and Delaney have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Morton has thrown for 431 yards this season, while Delaney, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 16 catches for 470 yards. Allendale-Fairfax's Jordan leads the league in rushing yards with 664.
A big matchup in A Region V this week will be when Estill takes on Branchville. At the moment, J.C Threatt's team is in third, while the Yellowjackets are in fourth.
Branchville was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in the league. Dan Reynolds's team defeated Lincoln 65-26 earlier in the week.
