Baseball Recap: Dimmitt Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Dimmitt challenged Idalou on Friday. The Bobcats fell 9-6 to the Wildcats. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Rudy Fuentes was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Dimmitt is 3-1 when Fuentes posts two or more runs, but 7-9 otherwise. Diego Villareal was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Dimmitt's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Idalou, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Dimmitt will square off against rival Muleshoe at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Idalou is set to face off against their familiar foe Shallowater at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
