This season hasn't been kind to the Hagerstown Tigers, who are still winless after their 20th contest. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 66-44 walloping at the hands of Union City on Friday. Hagerstown has not had much luck with Union City recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Hagerstown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kasiti Ferriell, who scored 11 points. Elly Cheeseman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for Luane Schoonbroodt, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds for Union City. That makes it six consecutive games in which Schoonbroodt has scored at least a third of Union City's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Fischer, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Hagerstown dropped their record down to 0-20 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.5 points per game. As for Union City, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Hagerstown will square off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union County is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games. Union City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
