Ella Sharp was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off 12 hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Macy Castillo was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Gentry Kirkland also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Lipan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Graford owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance two weeks ago. They blew past Huckabay 7-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rabbits.
The result came thanks to Trinity Leach's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 17 Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 6.4 strikeouts per game.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Faith Perry, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Ruddy, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
Lipan's record now sits at 2-3. As for Graford, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lipan hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .322. However, it's not like Graford struggles in that department as they've averaged .415. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lipan might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Graford in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Lipan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
