Basketball Recap: Sherrard Skates Past Quad Cities Christian with Ease

Sherrard had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-39 victory over the Quad Cities Christian Eagles. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cobie Becker-Paradiso, who posted four points and five blocks. Andrew Summers was another key player, putting up nine points and five boards.

Sherrard's win bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Quad Cities Christian, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sherrard will head out to face off against Rockridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockridge is on a five-game streak of home wins, Sherrard a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Quad Cities Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Varsity Opponent at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
