East Rowan has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the South Rowan Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, East Rowan had to suffer through a rough 76-32 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. East Rowan has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
East Rowan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Logan Bradley, who scored 11 points, and Aiden Lino who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bradley has scored all season.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to South Rowan, who are still winless after their 17th match. They were dealt a 88-44 defeat at the hands of Robinson on Friday. While losing is never fun, South Rowan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 125th).
East Rowan has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-17 record this season. As for South Rowan, their loss was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.
East Rowan was able to grind out a solid win over the Raiders in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 70-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Rowan since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
