The Brandywine Heights Area Bullets were the 49-43 winner over the Antietam Mountaineers when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Brandywine Heights Area fell just short of Antietam by a score of 39-36.
Antietam found their leader in underclassman AJ Schiefly, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Schiefly has scored at least 25% of Antietam's points. Another player making a difference was Andrew Marrero, who scored eight points.
Brandywine Heights Area has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Antietam, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Brandywine Heights Area won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pleasant Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 5th. Pleasant Valley has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Antietam, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shenandoah Valley at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. Shenandoah Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
