The Hickory Grove Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 54-31 walloping at the hands of Harding University.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kevin Powell, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Powell scored a full 41.9% of Hickory Grove Christian's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Miles Allen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Hickory Grove Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Harding University, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Hickory Grove Christian and Northside Christian Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Northside Christian Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. Harding University and Mallard Creek will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mallard Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three contests.
