After two games on the road, Pawnee City is heading back home. They will take on The Sioux County Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Pawnee City took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 52-25 win over Dorchester. With Pawnee City ahead 36-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Jett Farwell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 85 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 31 yards and a touchdown. Justin Pierce was another key contributor, throwing for 138 yards and three touchdowns on only nine passes.
Meanwhile, Sioux County never let their opponents score on Friday. They breezed by Minatare on the road to the tune of 65-0. The victory was just what Sioux County needed coming off of a 57-18 defeat in their prior match.
Jack Hunter went supernova for Sioux County, rushing for 95 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Jadon Skavdahl also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Pawnee City's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.0 points per game. As for Sioux County, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Pawnee City and Sioux County haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Pawnee City commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 6.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Sioux County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
