The South Haven Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the Caldwell Bluejays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (South Haven is ranked 283rd, while the Bluejays are ranked 292nd).
Central typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday South Haven proved too difficult a challenge. They secured a 49-43 W over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Haven.
Meanwhile, Caldwell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 61-37 loss to Oxford might stick with them for a while. Caldwell found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 12 fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the defeat, Caldwell got a solid performance out of Jackson Risley, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 48.6% of Caldwell's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Mak Blosser, who scored eight points.
South Haven's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-10. As for Caldwell, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
South Haven beat the Bluejays 57-50 in their previous matchup back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Risley, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds.
