Aberdeen is 0-10 against the Bears since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Aberdeen Tigers will be playing at home against the Bear Lake Bears at 7:00 p.m. Aberdeen will be strutting in after a win while the Bears will be coming in after a defeat.
Aberdeen scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They skirted past West Side 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Griffin Knittel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Shackelford, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Bear Lake suffered a tough 76-50 defeat at the hands of the Eagles on Friday.
Despite the loss, Bear Lake got a solid performance out of Bryson Crane, who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Crane continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Treysen Wright was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Aberdeen pushed their record up to 6-10 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Bear Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Aberdeen have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 21.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Bear Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Aberdeen ended up a good deal behind the Bears in their previous meeting on Wednesday, losing 47-30. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Crane, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Now that Aberdeen knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
