The Penns Grove Red Devils will head out on the road to take on the Clearview Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Penns Grove suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-44 walloping at the hands of Cinnaminson. While losing is never fun, Penns Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Cinnaminson is ranked 75th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Giomar Conrad, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Willie Slocum was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Clearview's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They suffered a tough 58-33 defeat at the hands of Kingsway.
Penns Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Clearview, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Penns Grove was able to grind out a solid victory over Clearview when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 58-47. Does Penns Grove have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clearview turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
