The Carver A&T Wildcats are taking a road trip to square off against Notre Dame Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Carver A&T was able to grind out a solid win over Eastern Tech, taking the game 10-6. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Lily Anderson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Anderson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Lily Dennis was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emelyse Carney, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Prep had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over St. Timothy's. Notre Dame Prep might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Like Carver A&T, Notre Dame Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Lea Neff. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Neff has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Notre Dame Prep let Abby Pitz and Bella Canova run wild. Pitz went 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one triple, while Canova went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Natalie Wagner, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Notre Dame Prep pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Carver A&T, their record now sits at 5-7.
