The Arete Prep CHARGERS lost against the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Arete Prep fell 40-32 to Gilbert Classical Academy. Arete Prep has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Arete Prep saw an underclassman step up: Leilani Aragon scored nine points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Livia Emery, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Arete Prep's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
Arete Prep will head out on the road to face off against Miami at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Miami will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they will be playing at home against San Tan Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. San Tan Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last ten games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
