Basketball Recap: Portland Adventist Academy Takes a Loss

The matchup between Portland Adventist Academy and Catlin Gabel on Tuesday hardly resembled the 35-27 effort from their previous meeting. The Portland Adventist Academy Cougars took a 57-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Catlin Gabel Eagles. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Despite the loss, Portland Adventist Academy still got an impressive performance from Dane Petersen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. The game was Petersen's third in a row with at least ten points. Trygg Patchin was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Even though they lost, Portland Adventist Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Portland Adventist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Catlin Gabel, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Horizon Christian the next time they take the court. Catlin Gabel will host Horizon Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Portland Adventist Academy will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
