The St. Michael's Crusaders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Antonio Christian. St. Michael's was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as San Antonio Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, St. Michael's still got an impressive performance from Jackson Radtke, who picked up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
St. Michael's' loss was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-1 Regents and 8-1 Wheaton Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 67.2% over those games). As for San Antonio Christian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Michael's will take on St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. St. Joseph will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for San Antonio Christian, they will look to defend their home field on October 27th against Hyde Park at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Hyde Park is ranked 769th, while San Antonio Christian is ranked 775th).
