Basketball Recap: Pahokee Makes It Three in a Row at Home

Dreyfoos School of the Arts came into Wednesday's contest looking for another win against Pahokee, but Sa?Nya Flowers wouldn't allow it. The Pahokee Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars 29-26 thanks in part to Flowers, who posted 18 points. Her evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Pahokee pushed their record up to 4-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.7 points per game. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pahokee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Moore Haven at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Moore Haven will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Pahokee surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they and Forest Hill will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest having both just played. Dreyfoos School of the Arts is facing Forest Hill at the right time seeing as Forest Hill is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
