The Braden River Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Port Charlotte Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braden River will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Port Charlotte is ranked 145th).
Braden River had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 43-42 photo finish over Southeast.
Meanwhile, Port Charlotte put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 61-38 margin over North Port. The win was nothing new for Port Charlotte as they're now sitting on three straight.
Braden River's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Port Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Braden River was dealt a bruising 63-22 loss at the hands of Port Charlotte when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Braden River, Nayeliz Figuera Verges (who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
