After a string of three wins, the Ottoville Big Green's's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Antwerp 46-42. Ottoville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Antwerp apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Antwerp's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Altimus led the charge by scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Landon Brewer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Ottoville's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Antwerp, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Ottoville will be home for the holidays to greet Fort Jennings at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Jennings will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 306th, while Ottoville is ranked 64th). As for Antwerp, they will head out on the road to face off against Continental at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
