The Willis Wildkats's six-game losing streak came to an end on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against West Orange-Stark and snuck past 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Willis found their leader in underclassman Amy Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kamryn Davis, who scored 8 points.
Willis' victory bumped their record up to 1-6. As for West Orange-Stark, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Willis' road trip will continue as they head out to face Magnolia at 11:30 a.m. on November 20th. West Orange-Stark will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Port Neches-Groves at 5:00 p.m. on November 28th.
