Lamesa has won four straight games at home, while Denver City has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Tornadoes will welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Lamesa will be strutting in after a victory while Denver City will be coming in after a defeat.
Lamesa gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Brownfield by a score of 5-1.

Jonah Muniz made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He is becoming a predictor of Lamesa's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 3-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Muniz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Isaak Flores was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Denver City unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Coahoma, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Mustangs have suffered since April 29, 2024.
Denver City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was David Franco, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Denver City's defeat dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Lamesa, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 9-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lamesa has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Denver City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lamesa might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Denver City in their previous meeting back in March. Will the Tornadoes have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
